One of My Favorite Logos

One of my favorite companies that I’m really passionate about is Apple Computer.  In my opinion, they make the best computers out there.  They just can’t compete with any other company on the market.  Sure they have like a 4% market share but so does Porsche and I’d much rather drive a Porsche than a Ford.  Anyway, their logo is fantastic.  I wasn’t too crazy about their old logo that they were using for years since the companies inception.  The logo in question is the famous apple logo with the bite cut our of it.  In their original logo, the apple was colored with horizontal lines of differing colors.  Just recently though, Apple has dropped the colors scheme by choosing to use a solid color for their logo while keeping the shape and the bite the same.  I prefer this color scheme much more as they can tailor the color of the Apple logo to the theme of what they are advertising.  They are however using silver, black and white for the colors of their logos on their computers of late.
Apple is using their logo in all possible areas.  They are using the logo on their website however it is not as noticeable.  They do however choose to have the logo very noticeable after every one of their iPod commercials and their Mac vs. PC commercials.  Steve Jobs wants everybody to associate that logo with their company so that it is instantly recognizable.  Also, Apple does have a lot of presence in the entertainment world.  Most of the movies that place computer products in a particular shot choose to use Macs.  Apple even has 90% of the car manufacturers have some sort of iPod connectivity in their cars and they advertise that in their print ads.
It is amazing what a small company has done with their iMacs and their iPods in such a short turnaround time.  Now more and more people will recognize what the little apple logo with the bite cut out of it represents.  So you can see why so many companies go to great lengths to design a logo.
