which computer would be best for a student?

I commute to a University 45min every other day. I need something lightweight. Good battery life. Able to store my music, papers, and photos. I DO NOT want a mini notebook.
I have an HP but am looking for a Dell (I think). I do not like Apple/ Mac.

A good computer for a student is one that is affordable and will get the job done. Make sure you get at least 3GB RAM and don’t worry so much about the brand. Dell and HP both have solid affordable Laptops that would most likely qualify.
